Aromatherapy and the needs of the doshas
Originating in India, the science of Ayurveda has been teaching how to nurture the body for thousands of years. The basis of Ayurvedic methods is based on the doshas - otherwise known as energies or psychophysical types - which affect many elements in a person's life. Each energy type has different specific characteristics and varied needs. For ideal balance, these differences should be taken into account in all areas of life, including nutrition, the use of beauty treatments and building one's environment. Aromatherapy is a powerful tool used in ensuring internal balance and stimulating vital energy, so the scent around us should also be selected according to the dosha.
Characteristics of Vata
Vata energy is derived from air and space. People with a Vata dosha are characterized by high motor energy, creativity. They are dynamic and restless, full of life. Vata is always on the move and is also characterized by great enthusiasm for life. However, people with Vata dosha lack immunity and need warming elements. The aromatherapy set for Vata is based on two basic scents: orange and cypress. Their fresh, slightly citrus aroma restores the body's natural balance and stimulates vital energy - prana.
The set consists of:
- 25 grams of handmade incense
- 10 cones
- ceramic incense cone stand
- Aromatic vats and cones are used to stimulate vital energy and regain inner balance.
- For aromatic cones, use the round ceramic saucer that is part of the set.
- Place the thin incense sticks in a special stand designed for this purpose (stone or wooden) - it is not part of the kit.
- Fire the tip of the incense, then extinguish it with a gentle blow so that the aromatic smoke rises.
- Don't forget to properly ventilate the room where you use incense sticks.
- Do not use incense near flammable objects (e.g., books, newspapers) or on delicate surfaces that can easily be damaged by heat, for example (wood, lacquered surfaces).
- Do not move the saucer with a burning cone or just after it has expired - there is a risk of burning.
